A organização do New York Game Awards revelou os indicados para a cerimônia de 2026, que acontecerá em 18 de janeiro no SVA Theatre, em Manhattan. Ghost of Yōtei, da Sucker Punch Productions, lidera a lista com quatro indicações, incluindo Melhor Jogo do Ano, Melhor Roteiro, Melhor Música e Melhor Atuação para Erika Ishii (Atsu).

Outros destaques incluem Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Despelote e Hades 2, que receberam três indicações cada, todos concorrendo ao prêmio principal. A Nintendo foi a editora mais lembrada, somando cinco nomeações em quatro categorias com títulos como Mario Kart World e Metroid Prime 4: Beyond.
